Assessment for Children & Young People
Practical Application of Psychological Assessment in Educational Settings
Screening helps identify areas that may require further exploration, while comprehensive assessment provides a deeper understanding of each child or young person’s strengths, learning needs and areas of difficulty.
Assessment findings can help teachers, SENCos, school counsellors, school psychologists, and other educational professionals plan appropriate classroom support, develop individualised learning strategies and consider reasonable adjustments.
Recommendations take into account the child’s developmental and educational profile, everyday functioning and individual needs within school and other relevant settings.
