Listening BEARS™ was founded by Dr Dilys Liu with the mission of translating evidence-informed psychological principles into practical, easy-to-apply skills that support everyday emotional wellbeing, particularly for parents, vulnerable adults, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

The tools help people navigate daily stress or difficult moments, particularly when they feel misunderstood, unheard, or emotionally overwhelmed.

Drawing from Dr Dilys's background in supporting individuals with ADHD, neurodiversity, trauma, as well as families experiencing adversity, Listening BEARS™ has been developed through a compassionate, body-based, and trauma-informed lens. The course focuses on practical, evidence-informed skills that promote early intervention, emotional wellbeing, burnout prevention, and lifelong psychological resilience, beyond diagnostic labels alone.

A schedule for a six-session program with titles and topics, featuring colorful circles with letters and session titles, including 'Being With,' 'Exploring,' 'Acknowledging,' 'Restoring,' 'Speaking,' and 'Integration'.

The Listening BEARS™ Foundation Course is the first in a growing series of programmes. It is delivered through short video and audio sessions, following by simple daily practice between sessions.

Future courses will be developed for specific groups and topics, including ADHD, parenting, safeguarding, other areas of neurodiversity, mental health, and psychological growth.
